SELF CARE TIPS to Un-wind & Relax (and a little update on me!)

Hi guys!

I know it’s been forever since I last posted, I got so busy with life (by life I mean full time work, gym and trying to maintain a social life!). But also, I felt like blogging became a bit outdated.

I know myself included started a YouTube channel - this is something I’ve always wanted to do, and Podcasts became more popular.

Do you know what made me miss blogging again? I was watching the film “The Perfect Man” on Netflix. It stars Hilary Duff, who’s always moving house when her mums relationships don’t work out. She had a blog called ”The Girl On The Move” and it made me miss my blog!

I find it so therapeutic aswel. Don’t you? Especially on a Sunday evening, with a cup of tea, a blanket, snacks and a little lamp 😍

So with everything going on in the World right now, I wanted to share some tips on how you can relax.

1. HAVE ME TIME! (this INCLUDES putting your phone/social media AWAY)

Omg me time is so important. Zone out, do something you love and enjoy. For me, I love reading, I can literally read for ages and forget how much time has passed by. I love Sophie Kinsella books.

Putting your phone/social media away can also help you relax your mind. Social media can be so negative & these days I make it a priority to put my phone away and limit my social media time.

2. MEDIDATE

I never knew the benefits of meditation until last year when I experienced anxiety (that’s a post for another day). But I LOVE it now and do it every night before sleep.

I use an app called “Headspace”, I do 10 minutes a day before bed and it really helps me get sleepy and relax anything on my mind. Sometimes, if I’m stressed in the day, I’ll take 5-10 minutes to meditate and I definitely notice the difference.

if you don’t feel it works at first, just keep trying. Meditating can feel weird at first especially if, like me, you wasn’t used to trying to “wind down and relax”.

3. LIGHT THERAPY

You’ll be surprised how much better you feel from getting some natural daylight. Go for a walk or exercise. I never used to walk much but ever since quarantine I love walking! It’s really good for the mind and honestly even 30 minutes a day can help improve your mood.

If the weather is bad, try opening the window and getting some fresh air. Fresh air really helps improve my mood.

What do you do to un-wind and relax?

Also, I’d love if you checked out and subscribed to my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/Shelise’sWorld for all things beauty, lifestyle and fashion (shock 😂). If you have YouTube channel I’d love to support eachother!
